Warning: Unpleasant Experience BE CAREFUL !!!
I recently had the displeasure of staying in a property during my holiday in Lisbon, and I feel compelled to share my experience to caution other potential tenants.
Firstly, my stay was marred by an unexpected and exorbitant charge imposed by the landlord. Initially, they insisted on charging an outrageous 400EUR extra for guests, even though the property was advertised as accommodating a certain number of people. This unexpected demand was not only unfair but also put a damper on our holiday plans.
Upon refusing to comply with this unreasonable request, the landlord then revised the extra charge to 258EUR. While negotiating, we agreed to pay 158EUR as a compromise. However, this seemingly amicable agreement took an abrupt turn when the landlord threatened to kick us out of the property if we didn't agree to their revised terms.
This entire experience was incredibly stressful and unsettling, especially during what was supposed to be a relaxing holiday. It's disheartening to encounter such unprofessional behavior from a landlord who is supposed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
My advice to future tenants considering properties in Lisbon is to exercise caution. Ensure that all terms and conditions are clarified and agreed upon in advance to avoid any unwarranted surprises. Unfortunately, my experience has compelled me to give the landlord a lower rating, and I sincerely hope that others can learn from my ordeal.
In conclusion, my holiday in Lisbon was overshadowed by the unpleasant dealings with the landlord. I hope this review serves as a warning to fellow travelers and encourages landlords to address such issues promptly to maintain the trust of their tenants.
Neighborhood
Not the most safest hood even though it's quite center but loads of refugees and trash around so it may give unpleasant feeling

Landlord: Margarida is incredibly kind! Though there were misunderstandings along the way, she always handled everything professionally and with grace.
Apartment: The view from the apartment is incredible - totally worth the stay! The lounge feels like home. A warm stay.
Neighborhood
Great, friendly and diverse area. Has its own kind of cool and everything you need is close by. Close to public transport.
Safety: I’m a woman, so walking alone at night? I would definitely caution. It’s a central location so it’s busy with lots of economic diversity.
Recommended places nearby
Diyalo restaurant, the Catmandoo, La Villa, Jardim de Torel, the park with ducks nearby and the best brunch place across from it (next to the German embassy)

The apartment is gorgeous - very clean, spacious, and picturesque. The view from the patio and balconies are definitely my favourite. The communication with Margarida was smooth and always on time via the Flatio platform.
The apartment is located to close to public transport stops, a big supermarket is just a few minutes away, and the old town streets are nearby for an evening stroll. It is just 10-15 minutes walking to the central square in Lisbon – great location overall.
Neighborhood
The apartment is located right next to central streets with public transport on one side and cute old town streets with lots of restaurants and bars on the other side. The area is quiet enough.

Nice, comfortable flat in Alfama with fast internet and a nice view. The host was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay. Note that there are stairs and a cobblestone street with hills.
Neighborhood
Heart of Old Town in Lisbon; walking distance to shops, restaurants, and amenities. Across the street from a grocery store. Mixed international population; did not seem the safest place to walk at night however.
Recommended places nearby
Bom dia for groceries, A Padaria Portuguesa bakery, Josephine Bistro and Bar just down the stairs.

Very nice location and a modern apartment! We had a great time and would recommend spending time there. Just a few minor problems occurred - the electricity situation is quite problematic, worse than we were informed about, especially if you like to cook. We couldn’t turn on the stovetop and the oven at the same time without everything getting dark. This might have been because of a hardware problem within the stovetop (it turned off by itself all the time) that was discovered after two weeks and was supposed to get fixed during the remainder of the stay. We got a supplement single cooking plate to use but we never heard more about fixing the real stovetop.
But on the whole - a nice place and a friendly and flexible landlord!

Decent apartment with a few quirks. Location is great, quiet and central. Few issues about the apartment include a bedroom door that does not close properly, electrical issues where the power goes out if too many appliances in use. Cooking is challenging as you cannot use the oven and stovetop at the same time much less anything else like the tea kettle or toaster. Kitchen was also lacking basic knives.
Overall a decent apartment in Lisbon with a few issues. Bedroom door and electrical issues need to be fixed or at least be known to the renter.
Neighborhood
Quiet with plenty of restaurants and things to do.

The apartment is super central, you can walk almost everywhere. There is a very nice park next to the house and all the services. The flat is a bit small but very cozy. It is fully equipped. Margarida is very friendly and an excellent professional, you will be in very good hands! The only negative point is the access door and the staircase not exactly in good condition, anyway the street, although it may not seem like it, is very quiet and safe. Thanks Margarida!
Neighborhood

Margarida was amazing! She was very helpful, responsive, and friendly. The apartment came with EVERYTHING you could need - extra towels/sheets, a buggy to take to the grocery up the street, an ironing board/iron, cleaning supplies, TV with channels in all languages, speedy WiFi, and all cooking utensils/necessities. The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors are always willing to respond to an "ola" or a smile :). It's walking distance to everything you could need - metro, restaurants, grocery/mini-marts, and tourist attractions. For anyone arriving in Lisbon for the first time, or returning and who wants to be at the heart of it all, I highly recommend staying here!
Neighborhood
Quiet with lots of restaurants, mini-marts, and grocery stores around. Despite being above two restaurants, it remains quiet from 10 pm to 6 am.

The flat is just above Josefino's pizza, which not only leaks great smells in but tastes amazing. Intendente square is great to hang out in and have drinks/snacks. There is an Asian food court outside the Martim Moniz metro station that has AMAZING pad thai, sushi, etc., and a roof-top bar called "Topo" with great drinks and views of the castle. There are several lookouts nearby to watch the sunset and the flat is located centrally to explore all the other neighborhoods.
