Very nice landlords, loved the communication but the apartment has zero sound isolation from the rest of the house where they live so you can hear everything when someone comes down or back home. Nice bed and kitchen, shower and restroom in general not so much - each time you take a shower the floor gets really wet and if you are 160+ cm shaving and using the mirror is a pain because you need to crouch + it's pretty dark even with all the lights on. Overall for short time rent good place but if you need something for long term you will get the feeling you're living in someones basement/room for a pretty hight price (with service fee I payed over 1300 euro for 31 day). Metro is 15-20 minutes walk, neighbourhood is let's say not the best but ok and even though there is a place you can do laundry nearby, again, it's just a pain to spent time and 10 euro each week additionally considering the price of the studio itself IMO. Owner said the main issue with sound isolation from rest of the house is something they plan to fix but until then it is what it is.

Host Wise have been excellent to deal with. They have responded quickly to any questions and communication overall has been excellent.
The apartment itself was advertised as luxury accommodation. In summer that may have been so, but in winter it was cold and draughty as the french doors didn't quite shut properly and the heat pump wasn't coping. There was no double glazing. The kitchen was well equipped.
The ensuite shower needs a good scrub around the bottom of the doors and in the grouting.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the apartment. Our host Diana was very nice but we had some problems with the building:
- The door to the apartment was very hard to open and close
- There is no lift and the common area smells bad
- The apartment has problems with ants (but poison for it was provided)
Good things are that things were mostly in a good shape and looked nice. The internet speed was good, TV was good and the apartment is spacious
- The kitchen was well-equipped but most of the pans were missing their handles

The apartment fully corresponds to the photos. It has everything necessary for a short-term stay. It is equidistant from the center of Porto and the ocean (40-50 minutes on foot, 15 minutes by car). For a long-term stay, there are some drawbacks, especially if you plan to spend a lot of time in the apartment, for example, in the case of remote work. There is no air conditioning, and it can get stuffy in the mornings. The internet speed is sufficient for work, but there are no dedicated workspaces in the apartment. There is a small farm nearby, and the bird cries can be quite loud. The mattress in the bedroom is not very comfortable. The kitchen is narrow, which makes it less comfortable. Overall, the apartment is suitable for short-term stays or for a long-term stay if you don't plan to spend a lot of time inside during the day.

The elevator stops at the first floor. You must climb about 20 steps to get to where you can get on the elevator.
The apartment has a hob and microwave, but no oven. The fridge is very small.
The landlord was cooperative about getting the shades and the heat pump fixed.
Rua de Santa Catarina is in the heart of the tourist district. If you like that, fine. If not, stay away.

LOCATION: Flat is located on a very busy road, it's not as quiet as described because it is located on a very busy road. If you don't close ALL the window, you will hear a lot of traffic noises.
CHECK-IN: Self check-in, owner will send a clear instruction, very easy check in, feel safe too.
CLEANNESS: I find this a big problem. When I checked in, the floor has a lot of small hairs, I also found some hairs on the bed linens and pillows even though they seem washed. I texted Marcelo the landlord and he asked the cleaner to come change the bed linens. Then I also found the towels are not clean, same issue with some very small hairs and some dirty stuff that I do not want to describe. I didn't use them all all. I also washed all the bath towels again just to be sure. The bathroom sink was a bit blocked (which was ok to use but I need to wait for the water to go down which is a bit annoying). I also found the kitchen not very clean. I need to wipe the surface again myself. (I am being very honest here, I also took pictures if any party doubts the truth of my review)
EQUIPMENT: There's enough equipment for staying here, like iron board, clothes horse, basic cooking equipment etc. However there's nothing provided for kitchen cleaning, no washing liquid, no soap, no hand wash, nothing. I need to contact the landlord again to get them. Dishwasher is super dirty and it's broken. I also reported it to the landlord. There's no hoover, only a broom, the toilet seat cover is broken, and the light when you enter the apartment is also broken, but these don't bother me too much.
VIEW: Apartment is on the 4th floor, very nice city and mountain view, you can also see a bit of the river. If you look down you can see the busy traffic, I love watching traffic police man guiding the traffic, it's fun to just observe the city in this way. :)
SLEEP: I need to close all the windows to be able to sleep, but then there's no airflow, so I have to keep the fan on all the time. but I guess a good location means noisy road, it didn't bother me too much.
WORK&LIFE: It's a perfect place for a short stay, the apartment is small but has everything you need. However if you are a digital nomad and want to work while travelling, you might need to think about bringing some of your own equipment, there's no dedicated workspace, but I managed to use pillows for a back support ;)
CHECK OUT: It's the same as check in, very easy, the landlord will tell you where to keep the key etc. However when I was about to leave the apartment, the building was locked for some reason and the landlord didn't give me the key to open the door to the building.. I was locked for about 20 min and luckily someone in the building helped me open the door. It's a bit dangerous as there's a chance I would miss the flight. According to the landlord this door never locks, but I guess it's safer to give the tenant the key just in case this happened. Maybe I was just not lucky :(
LANDLORD: Marcelo is very nice, quick response, and very helpful for everything, also provided good restaurants nearby. Tthe only issue is he was travelling in Brazil and when I checked in the wifi provided in the apartment was wrong which caused me a delay for a work call, but he replied me and provided me the information as soon as he got up, which was appreciated! Even though there's issues here and there in the apartment, Marcelo is willing to try his best to solve it for the tenants. I believe he will fix all the issues in the apartment soon.

Mariana is a really kind person, who seems always ready to help people around us and with which you can have a nice conversation easily if you want to.
About the place, the room was really big with a lot of space and colorful. However, when it cold outside, it really is inside too and there is no heather or anything to warm the place. Also, there is not a lot of cooking equipments (there is no microwave or oven), only a hob. Concerning the private bathroom, it is not what you imagine when you think about a bathroom. Indeed, the toilet and the small sink are inside the shower. Furthermore, the pipes are a bit clogged and there is nothing to preclude the water to flood the kitchen when you take your shower so you need to take it really fast.
For all those reasons I am really sorry to rate the place so poorly, but I really think that you can find a better place cheaper and that some things need to be fixed. I tried to be as honest as I could and I am sorry Mariana because you were a really sweet person.

The studio was beautiful, comfortable beds and super amazing garden. Unfortunatelly, I am giving this poor rating as the house was surrounded by construction and it was so so noisy during all my stay (including the Saturdays, the construction was starting at 8:00am and during the weekdays it was hard to focus at work due to the noises). Even I complained about this with the landlord, no alternative was given to me during my stay. I really recommend to check with the landlord if the construction is still going on before signing any contract.
